On June 26, Greenery Productions was asked to showcase at a joint dinner presented by The Orlando Chapter of the National Association of Catering Executives (NACE) and The Association of Bridal Consultants (ABC). Held at the Orlando World Center Marriott, the event featured a presentation by “The Wedding DIVA” Linnyette Richardson-Hall and focused on hot topics in the Wedding and Special Event Industry.

Attended by many of Orlando’s top industry professionals, Tommy Murphy along with Kerline Docteur of Joie de Vie Wedding & Events Inc. and Jennifer Welsh with Over The Top Linens set out to create two elaborate and innovative tablescapes to be presented across a total of eight tables.

The first table design entitled “Twisted Sister” included a hand embellished crosswinds bowl filled with illuminated miniature calla lilies and roses. Never afraid to step out of the box, Tommy laid our concrete and metal Ella Stand vases on their side and adorned them with twisted calla lilies to frame this chic centerpiece. Dark gray tapered footed vases set amongst the stands and glowing with a floating candle finished this elaborate and elegant design.

The second table design entitled “Cascading Love” included one of our most popular glassware pieces, the Makita vase. Set both upright and on their sides, these varying size mercury silver and clear glass vessels were a perfect pairing for the cascading white Dendrobium Orchids pouring out each end. Clutches of white roses representing love were placed at the base of the design along with scatterings of and silver votives and steel spheres to complete the overall set.

It is said that pink is the color that will never go out of style. A perfect combination of red and white this soft, fun and flirty color symbolizes love, beauty, kindness and compassion. A multifaceted color, pink can exude a sophisticated feel when paired with black or gray or a cheerful and spring-like vibe when matched with yellows and greens. When used in a monochromatic fashion like the design below, pink can also create an elegant and classical atmosphere for your event.

As the first element in our design, pink roses are one of the oldest roses known to us and have a rich history that dates back to some of the earliest pieces of visual art. Carrying the undertones of elegance, grace, sweetness and poetic romance these roses symbolize love and gratitude. From their sweet fragrance to their delicate appearance, the beauty of pink roses will be the perfect addition to any event.

Adding style and sophistication to this fresh monochromatic design are light pink tulips. The peculiar shape and different colors of the tulip make it one of the most loved flowers on earth. Pink tulips carry the meaning of perfect happiness and of wishing someone well. As a popular choice for several occasions, the lovely pink compliments this design beautifully.

The bright blooms of the Gerber daisies always attract the attention of any passersby. Named after its founder, the flowers have come to symbolize certain sentiments and are given on various special occasions. Light pink gerbera daisies stand for admiration and sympathy, making them flowers often given as an act of friendship or as a get well present. The Gerbera daisies and their stunning beauty complete this monochromatic centerpiece.

From a soft pink for a romantic look to a hot pink for an energetic and exciting feel this beautiful and chic color is great for any occasion. Below are several ideas in which you can incorporate this fabulous color into your next event!

In conclusion to our four series blog posts, colors are more than just combinations of red, blue or yellow. They have meaning that does beyond ink. It is believed that the color choices you make reflect a deeper meaning about your personality and traits. Choosing colors based on symbolism can apply to everything from clothing to event décor. Don’t be afraid to think outside the box and try a monochromatic event and try one of our fresh design ideas!

Abundant in nature, the color green signifies growth, renewal and health. Green occupies more space in the spectrum visible to the human eye than most colors and it shares some of the same calming attributes as the color blue. Nature uses this stable and expansive color as a background for all that buds and blossoms. It harmonizes with everything in nature’s rich cornucopia. Evoking nature itself, green floral arrangements transmit a message of renewal and optimism. With a large range of hues and shapes, green floral can keep your event or wedding day looking exciting and can enhance the appeal of a single color scheme.

The key to a successful monochromatic floral design is to incorporate different tones of the same hue including texture and height. Here is an inspiration design for a perfect green monochromatic centerpiece. A variety of budvases are topped with varying height floral. Spider Mums stand out as the tallest of the three. Their petals shoot out from the bloom as long, thin rays with hooked or coiled ends. Green Hypericum Berries to the right of the picture add airiness to the piece. Although it is often used as filler it can’t be denied that their ubiquitous appearance and their hearty, bright colors make them irresistible. The luscious miniature mint green hydrangea and their fabulous ruffle appearance adds the final touches of texture to this monochromatic design. One of the many attributes about the hydrangea flower is their ability to blend with other hydrangea. Combining multiple stems appears as one single and giant flower! Between the varying heights and hues of green, these floral make for a distinctive centerpiece!

Monochromatic events can sometimes be overlooked due to the misperception that a color concept is not as effective in creating that “wow” factor for your guests. Here are a few different ideas in which you can incorporate the green factor into an event and create that “wow” factor!

As a calming and soothing color, blue is the color of inspiration, sincerity and spirituality. This universal color is considered beneficial to the mind and body and often used to symbolize piety and sincerity. A natural color seen every day …

As a calming and soothing color, blue is the color of inspiration, sincerity and spirituality. This universal color is considered beneficial to the mind and body and often used to symbolize piety and sincerity. A natural color seen every day in the sky and oceans, its meaning and symbolism is carried throughout nature in a variety of blue floral. Like the color, blue flowers send a message of calming beauty, tranquility and peace. From celebrating a newborn to a fabulous wedding reception, blue-hued flowers can add a level of sophistication and elegance to any occasion. A monochromatic centerpiece of blue tones can convey the tranquility of a pristine ocean and may set just the right mood to your event.

The design shows a great way to combine three different floral selections in a monochromatic centerpiece. From the lacey blue hydrangea to the lush delphinium and the prickly blue thistle, these fresh blue-tinged flowers will leave a lasting impression. While some flower experts say hydrangea represents vanity others claim it expresses thankfulness. Whichever meaning it conveys, we can all agree that this cloudy shaped flower creates a calming and refreshing feel. As a symbol of nobility and independence, Blue thistle will leave a lasting impression on your guests. With a distinctive spiny snowflake shaped bloom, the blue thistle flower can add variety and texture to your centerpiece. The Delphinium flower completes this monochromatic centerpiece. This long stem flower ranges from light to dark blue and accentuates any table centerpiece, floral arrangement and wedding bouquet. Used by Native Americans and European settlers to make blue dye, the lush dolphin-shaped flower symbolizes an open heart and the essence and feeling of heavenly qualities.

Whether you are planning your special day or a large corporate event, blue can be incorporated in many different design elements. Blue lighting can be very mystical and elegant addition. Whether it’s a blue spotlight shining down or a vibrant blue light accenting the ballroom, blue lighting can be a beautiful display that sets the tone of your event.

Here are a few ideas different ideas in which you can include this soothing and calming color into a perfect monochromatic event.

A sky blue ribbon and bow on the chairs will set the tones alongside Sky blue napkins and Blue Roses, Hydrangea, and Orchids.

A royal blue velvet cake can be a new twist on a traditional red velvet cake and can go along with a monochromatic themed wedding.

The following is a series of four blog posts that focuses on four different colors; Purple, Blue, Green & Fuchsia. Follow our blog series and learn how you can take your event to the next level with an out of the box spectacular experience incorporating these monochromatic ideas.

It is said that if you surround yourself with purple you will have peace of mind. Studies have shown that a purple room can boost a child’s imagination or an artist’s creativity. The combination of hot red and cool blue create this intriguing and distinctive color. Associated with both nobility and spirituality, the color purple has been used to represent royalty for many years.

Purple has a special, almost scared place in nature. Lavender, Lilac and Violet flowers are often delicate and considered precious. As shown on the monochromatic design inspiration above, the lavender rose is often a sign of enchantment and love at first sight. For many years the lavender rose has stood out as one of the most remarkable and engaging varieties available. Crowned as the state flower of Tennessee, the purple Iris flower has been popular for a long time. Honored and loved for its exquisite beauty, the purple Iris flower symbolizes wisdom and knowledge. Last but not least, resembling an exploding firework the lavender spider mum is sure to bring excitement to any floral décor. As the national flower of Japan, the spider mum adorns the crest of the Japanese imperial family and for the Chinese the mum symbolizes nobility. Overall purple flowers have a strong individual color of their own. While a mixed arrangement with multiple colors is the most common choice, monochromatic pieces have tone on tone color for an elegant and fun splash of color.

Combined with all the necessary elements to create a perfect monochromatic event, purple floral will bring an extraordinary outcome. Linens, chair covers, chargers, battery operated room lighting, draping, custom dance floors and furniture rental are just some of the elements that can set the mood from traditional to fun and will wow your audience.

From its stunning coastline to its verdant rainforests and superb mountains, Costa Rica’s astounding beauty was the perfect destination for this year’s National Interiorscape Network’s (NIN) Garden tour. Greenery Production’s owner and Managing Director Linda Grier along with Senior Directors Robbin Ward and Cindi DeYoung joined NIN members from across the Unites States for a five-day educational tour in San Jose, Costa Rica.

Lankester Gardens in Santa Cruz de Turrialba served as the first stop in their educational journey. Created in the 1940’s by English naturalist Charles Lankester, Lankester Gardens is one of the most prominent botanical gardens in Costa Rica that draws a large number of travelers from all across the world. Lankester Gardens has over 700 species of orchids cultivated and on display. The primary goal is to preserve the local flora with an emphasis on orchids and bromeliads.

The NIN tour continued with a visit to the CATIE Botanical Gardens. These gardens are considered one of the most respected gardens in the world for their hard work in preserving plant species not only native to Costa Rica but tropical areas worldwide. With over 450,000 square meters, visitors can get a glimpse of 95 species of trees and a grand total of 4,000 plants.

Located just 15 minutes away from the capital is Hacienda La Laguna, home and gardens of Ileana Teran, President of SACRO Foundation (Save Our Costa Rican Orchids). Known for their beautiful gardens that resemble a tropical jungle, the group was led through narrow trails filled with Orchids, Ferns, Philodendrum, Anthurium and Bromeliads. La Laguna’s greenhouse houses more than 140 species of miniature orchids. Concluding their tour, the NIN made a contribution on behalf of the group to the SACRO Foundation.

Dedicated to the production, packing and marketing of a variety of plants, the Agricola Exportadora del Atalantico, S.A. was one of the most memorable and impressive sites visited by Linda, Robbin and Cindi. During their time at the Exportadora the group got to experience the complete packaging process for the Dracaena Massangeana. Grown on site, these Dracaena Massangeana (Corn Plant) are cut from the fields and transported to the the Exportadora where they get cut, washed, packed and ready to ship to different countries around the world.

On the last day of the Educational Tour, the National Interiorscape Network had the opportunity to visit Tabacon Hot Springs & Spa. With a perfect combination of volume, temperature and mineral content, the Tabacon Hot Springs and Spa is unique to Costa Rica. These thermal natural springs are 97% rain-based and 3% magma based. At 122 degrees Fahrenheit, these hot springs provide many benefits stemming from various chemical, physical and biological effects, the most notable is relaxing tense and tired muscles.

The Arenal Hanging Bridges were the final destination to this amazing experience. These are considered one of the most beautiful and captivating hanging-bridge projects in Costa Rica. The bridges’ location rests directly in front of the famous Arenal Volcano, one of Costa Rica’s most visited sites for travelers. Every year over 60 species of birds are known to visit these eco touristic sites.

Home to many beautiful and breathtaking landscapes, Costa Rica has become one of the frontrunners in floral and foliage preservation. The NIN Garden tour was not only an educational experience but a memorable one as well. Senior directors Robbin & Cindi shared this fantastic learning experience with the rest of the Greenery family.
