Greenery Productions volunteers at FNGLA’s Backyard Play

Greenery Productions recently had the honor of participating in the Florida Nursery Growers and Landscape Association’s (FNGLA) showcase at Epcot’s International Flower & Garden Festival. Senior Director Robbin Ward and Accounting Assistant Jennifer Montes volunteered as Garden Hostesses at the event on May 5^th making it Greenery’s third consecutive year of participation. Titled “Backyard Play”, the FNGLA showcase featured a wide variety of plants as part of a sustainable lifestyle and not simply as ornamental elements of a home. Robbin and Jennifer had the opportunity to meet with guests and answer questions about the plants featured in FNGLA’s “backyard look and feel” as part of an initiative to create an interactive learning experience for attendees.

An estimated 2.4 million guests are expected to visit Epcot during the festival which includes several holidays. This was an enjoyable and entertaining experience for our Greenery Productions Staff and we are looking forward to volunteering next year! Showers of Exotic White Phalenopsis Orchids

We had such a wonderful time designing Heather and Kris’ wedding. This fun couple tied the knot on March 10^th, 2012 at The Peabody Orlando. Working with Juan Guzman of The Peabody & Annie Nuno of The Soiree Co. would was such a great experience for our wedding design specialist, Tommy Murphy.

Heather could not resist the dreamy appearance of elegant white Phalaenopsis Orchids, which is why they played such an important role in this sophisticated wedding. With a stunning cascading bouquet of all white Phalaenopsis Orchid sprays, the beautiful bride walked down a white carpet covered aisle lined with tall mosaic candelabras adorned with white Cymbidium Orchid sprays. A custom designed curly willow structure standing 8’ tall decorated with clusters of white Dendrobium Orchid sprays greeted them at the altar. The silver draped wall was illuminated with tiffany blue lighting.

The dinner reception in the Orlando Ballroom carried the white Orchid and Curly Willow throughout. Framing the white LED dance floor were cascading arrangement of white Phalaenopsis sprays surrounded by tall clear candlesticks with white Dendrobium Orchid blossoms submerged in water. The ballroom perimeter tables included a tall arrangement of curly willow with white Dendrobium Orchid sprays to create the feel of blooming branches surrounded by cylinder vases with white Dendrobium Orchid blossoms submerged in water and floating candles.

Creamy White meets Lavender

On February 18, 2012 Greenery Production’s wedding specialist Tommy Murphy had the distinct pleasure of designing the floral and providing the décor for Kylie & Nathan. The couple was introduced to Tommy in June 2011 by Lisa Stoner of Eevents. After several creative meetings and sample designs, the vision was finalized. Creamy white floral would be accented with hues of antique lavenders, purples and silvers. The perfect setting for this February wedding was none other than The Portofino Bay Hotel.

The bride carried a soft and delicate bouquet of white Mini Calla Lilies, Sweetheart Roses, and fragrant Freesia & Ranunculus. The nine bridesmaids carried lavender bouquets of floral accented with sage green.

The ceremony was performed at the Villa Lawn with guests entering the seating area through a custom designed all creamy white floral arch accented with sheer chiffon fabric. The thick green lawn gave way to a soft rose petal framed aisle leading up to the existing Villa Gazebo. The couple married under the chiffon canopy with a lush and draping floral bar of creamy white Hydrangea, Roses, Spray Roses, Stock, and hanging green Amaranthus, a favorite of both Tommy & the bride. The custom arch was later used as a backdrop to the five tier cake designed by the pastry chefs at Portofino and the floral bar from the gazebo was used in sections to embellish the head & family tables.

The lavender illuminated Venetian Ballroom came to life with white and silver floral designs. Multiple designs created interest when looking across the high gloss seamless white vinyl covered dance floor. Greenery Productions signature 42” tall silver and crystal candelabras were designed with locally grown white Phalaenopsis Orchid Sprays, while other tables included a collection of sterling pots with a monochromatic floral design of antique lavender roses, lavender Freesia and purple Hydrangea. Candle light was a must for this bride so the Gunmetal Shantung linens were covered with frosted and silver textured votives. The tables were dressed with Gunmetal Shantung.

GP Shamrockin’ 2012!

On March 15^th 2012 Greenery Productions held its 3^rd annual springtime event “GP Shamrockin 2012”. Not only did this year’s event display the latest in floral and foliage but the event was designed with a twist of its own, a green glow theme party. Greenery Productions had everything glowing in the design studio from curved ottomans to glow bars and even the team’s t-shirts were glowing in the dark.

In addition to the green glow theme, the party committee surprised Greenery Production’s owner and managing director Linda Grier who recently announced her engagement to fiancé Al, with a four tier round wedding cake with cascading shamrocks. Guests gathered around the dessert table as everybody raised their glass for a toast to congratulate the couple on their engagement.

Greenery Productions enhances tradeshow floor with lush and tropical foliage

On February 12^th, the Rosen Shingle Creek Resort opened its doors to over 2500 attendees as they gathered around for this years’ 2012 company seminar. Each year, this fast food restaurant chain invests in seminars that educate employees on the company’s new products and innovations. For the attendees, coming back each year has created a family reunion feel to this annual seminar.

From the beginning we knew that this was going to be an exciting job! The client worked closely with account executive Matt Grier, who helped design and provide the appropriate foliage that would best suit the trade show floor. The tropical inspired trade show floor gave Greenery Productions the opportunity to bring in new exotic and lush foliage like Chinese Fan Palms, Birdsnest Ferns, and Macho Ferns to go along with our existing inventory of Adonidia Palms, White Bird of Paradise, Areca Palms, Spiral Topiaries and many other small exotics like Agave and Bromeliads.

The client was thrilled with how the trade show floor looked! Greenery Productions would like to thank the client for allowing us to be part of this year’s expo.

Greenery Productions at the Perfect Wedding Guide Winter Show

Greenery Productions was proud to be part of this year’s Perfect Wedding Guide Winter Show at Orlando’s iconic landmark, The Peabody Orlando Hotel. As the exclusive in house floral and foliage provider to the hotel, Juan Guzman called on Greenery Production to help design the space that would greet all the brides and grooms at this year’s event as they entered the showroom floor.

Juan requested a very traditional garden style wedding. He commented, “everyone is doing modern, let’s do traditional but let’s do it right and kick it up a notch”. Our in house wedding design specialist, Tommy Murphy went to work thinking how to best capture the spirit of the hotel and Juan’s desires.

The Peabody once known as Orlando’s premier wedding venue has recaptured that spirit with the new guest tower and convention space which has once again allowed room for weddings. So Tommy wanted to capture the rooftop ceremony space but in a much smaller space, 16’ square to be exact. He called on Swag Décor to wrap the garden setting with ivory chiffon in an effort to capture soft hues of green an amber lighting. Crystal chandeliers hung from the openings as you entered the space while Peabody’s signature gazebo was placed center of the setting, surrounded by a variety of plant specimens including Ficus trees, potted ivy and colorful Begonias to name a few. The gazebo was brought to life with hydrangea, roses, spray roses, stock and chrysanthemums.

A custom linen dressed table was placed under the gazebo all atop a bed of bark and mulch. Enhancing the table top was a large floral arrangement designed with the same floral as the gazebo, but exotic white phalaenopsis orchid sprays cascaded about the arrangement. Tommy only calls on the industry best to lend a hand when creating these stunning settings. So none other than Over The Top Linens created the custom chair caps, napkin rings, linen underlay and table cap along with the outer cocktail tables that dressed the surrounding space. A Chair Affair, the industry leader in chiavari chair and charger rental was always more than happy to provide their assistance.

Andrea Stevenson (first row, second from right) has been with Greenery Productions for seven years. She is a supervisor in our interiorscape department. Throughout high school, Andrea Stevenson was involved with the National FFA Organization (formally known as Future Farmers of America). FFA is the #1 youth organization in the United States. As a member, Andrea developed a strong love for agriculture and valuable leadership skills. The life lessons and friendships she made throughout FFA were priceless. She felt so strongly that it was important to give back to the organization that made her into what she is today.

This past October, Andrea had the opportunity to attend the National FFA Convention in Indianapolis where she ran for a member position on the National FFA Alumni Council. Andrea was elected to serve over 50,000 members for the next three years! The Alumni’s goal is to mentor FFA Members and advocate for agriculture education in our school system. As an FFA member, Andrea’s official assignment was to attend the national council meeting at the National FFA Center in Indiana. She recounts “ What a thrill since I had never been to the location where all of the operations and major decisions happen”. With snow piled up outside, the FFA council met to make major decisions on the future of the association including budgets and restructuring and receiving valuable leadership training. There are 15 members on the Council from states as far away as Oregon, Montana and Iowa. The council members hold many talents like Civil Engineers, Business Owners, Teachers and Horticulturists. But if there is one thing they all share is their passion to mentor kids. “I am so blessed to have this wonderful opportunity to make a difference in a child’s life” – Andrea Stevenson.

Seasonal trees and plants at the Peabody Orlando

Filled with beautiful and lush foliage, the Mallard Lobby at the Peabody Orlando is one of the most visited spots by guests due to the famous duck march. Several times a year, Greenery
Productions complements the Mallard Lobby with seasonal plants and flowers.
The following pictures show an Adonidia Palm Tree with red blooming Anthuriums and a Ficus Lyrata tree with orange Rieger Begonias, both located in the Mallard Lobby. Because they produce blooms all year round, the vibrant orange Rieger Begonias are a beautiful addition to this seasons new décor. They sure can brighten up a winter day by adding a pleasant splash of color to any garden like scenario. The blooming Anthuriums bring a tropical feel to the Mallard Lobby. This red heart-shaped flower also known as Flamingo Flowers, may grow to a height of 10-15 inches, and its leaves are usually attractively colored. Be sure to check out the Mallard Lobby next time you visit the Peabody Orlando!

Eclectic fall wedding at Casa Feliz

It’s always a pleasure to participate in a wedding for an industry colleague, but it is even more exciting when it is a friend of one of our own family members here at Greenery Productions. Michelle Hanks and Kasey Sirianni, one of our account executives, are college friends. Kasey introduced her to our wedding specialist Tommy Murphy who helped guide Michelle and make her vision come to reality.

Michelle Hanks & Matt Allegra wed this past October at the beautifully restored Spanish styled farmhouse, Casa Feliz. The arched doorways, beautiful courtyards and its unique residential character became the perfect spot for this charming wedding.

The bride desired a more traditional bouquet that included, white Peonies, champagne colored Roses and spray Roses. Her girls however, carried a Fall inspired bouquet with unique floral such as Hypericum Berries, yellow Billy Balls, chocolate Cosmos, Leonidas Roses & mini Sunflowers. The groomsmen boutonnieres were a fun mix of yellow Crespedia, Hypericum berries and Safari Sunset tied off with natural twine.

Multiple designs were created for the guest tables. Reclaimed Wodland boxes, Birch covered vessels, hammered galvanized containers and vine spheres were all used to create an eclectic casual centerpiece. The floral included Hypericum berries, yellow Crespedia balls (billy balls), chocolate Cosmos, orange and yellow mini Sunflowers, Yarrow, terra cotta colored Roses, Celosia, Kangaroo Paw, Safari Sunset & golden Leucadendron and natural fall foliage.

Greenery Productions would like to thank Michelle and Matt for allowing us to be a part of this special and unforgettable day. It was truly a pleasure working on this beautiful wedding. We wish the newlyweds much happiness as they start their new journey together as one. A special thanks to photographer, Kristen Weaver for providing the photos.

Greenery Production’s Holiday Brunch

On December 21st, 2011 the Greenery Productions family gathered in our design studio to celebrate the holiday season with our annual holiday brunch. Stockings were packed with goodies, tables were filled with fabulous homemade food & eggnog and holiday tunes filled the air with a festive holiday spirit. During our holiday brunch, Linda gathered the team for our employee recognition ceremony. Each year she recognizes team members with a plaque for their outstanding service and performance as a thank you for each individual’s commitment to excellence. Years of service included employees being part of our family for up to 15 years.

During our brunch, Linda provided the team with “the stages of greenery” and its direction for 2012. The five keys areas of focus for 2012 include Teamwork, Process & Procedures, Employee Development, Culture and Customer Focus. Each of the five keys embraces the company’s core values and they are of importance for all of us at Greenery Productions. On behalf of the entire team, thank you for a wonderful 2011 and looking forward to a prosperous 2012…
